Idyllic Millgate Bed & Breakfast in Masham, North Yorkshire was named the World's Top B&B by the travel website

Grade II listed B&B costs from £38 per night, and was described by guest as 'the best B&B we have ever been to'

Guesthouse is run by couple Sue and Andrew Burrell, who are 'thrilled' with their honour 

Lawton Court Hotel in Wales came first in the World's Top 10 Bargain Hotels and fourth in the world for service 

The Haymarket Hotel in London was ranked as the UK's best hotel in the awards which were based on guest reviews

Gili Lankanfushi Maldives, on the North Male Atoll of the Maldives, scooped the title of World's Top Hotel for 2015

A quaint bed and breakfast in Yorkshire and a £74-a-night hotel in North Wales have been named as the best holiday guesthouses in the world after receiving top ratings from TripAdvisor travellers.

Millgate Bed and Breakfast in Masham, North Yorkshire, and Lawton Court Hotel in Llandudno, North Wales, fought off competition from around the globe to come out on top in the 2015 Travellers' Choice awards.

The awards were based on millions of reviews left over the past year by holidaymakers on travel website TripAdvisor and took into account quality, service, staff, food and location.
